Susan Bussey 
Vice President, Project Administration & Marketing
Ms. Bussey is an accomplished management professional, experienced in steering and directing all aspects of assisted living
and adult homes including operations, administration, budgeting and staff development. Her particular strength in marketing
and census building is an asset to the Living Communities team. She has been successful in managing multiple projects with
competing completion dates which involved program development, quality control and meeting regulatory requirements. She has
guided cross-functional teams as well as trained, coached and motivated staff.
Ms. Bussey's career began as an Activities Director for Town Gate East where she was responsible for the planning and implementation
of social, recreational and cultural activities for this 120 unit assisted living facility. She was responsible for planning and
producing the monthly newsletter, supervision of volunteers and activities staff and ensuring that the social needs were met with
regard to the facility's residents. Ms. Bussey continued her affiliation with Town Gate East and became their Case Manager and was
responsible for admission and coordination, discharge planning, marketing and relationship building as well as the supervision and
management of the Care Team staff which included hiring, scheduling and disciplinary actions.
In 1998, Ms. Bussey joined Emeritus Corporation and became the Executive Director of Perinton Park Manor where she led and directed
the overall operation of the Community. Her responsibilities included community management, quality assurance, regulatory compliance,
sales, marketing and revenue building, business management, staffing and retention and community relations. She was successful in
maintaining an occupancy level of 95% or better and operated within substantial New York State Department of Health compliance. She
became the Area Director of Operations for the Emeritus Corporation in 2000 and in addition to her duties at Perinton Park Manor,
oversaw two other facilities. In 2003, Ms. Bussey became the New York Regional Operations Specialist for Emeritus Corporation and
supported seven licensed adult homes. Her responsibilities included support and training in the areas of general operations and sales
and marketing. Ms. Bussey continued her work with Emeritus and rejoined Perinton Park Manor as their Executive Director in 2006.
In 2007, Ms. Bussey became the Administrator of Heather Heights and directed the operations and marketing for the facility.
In 2008, Ms. Bussey joined the Living Communities team and became the Vice President for Project Administration & Marketing, acting
as the Executive Director for Rivers Run, Living Communities' first active adult community. Ms. Bussey spearheads the marketing
initiatives and full-time operations of 82 independent living apartments and 67 cottage homes as well as the overall marketing
initiatives for Living Communities. She coordinates the ramp-up of apartment units, develops policies and procedures, oversees the
hiring and training of staff and the overall coordination of Rivers' Run daily operations.
